It is currently late morning on Wed Jan 25 2012.

Tim answers, sounding a little out of it. Possibly someone slept in... "This is Tim."
"Is this the person to whom I am speaking?" Shelby's voice would like to know.
Tim is slow to reply, but starts waking up as he speaks. "This is his lack of sleep, at any rate, and it's as good as it gets for the next four hours." He yawns. "What's up."
Shelby's grin is fairly palpable across the air. "Couple of things. I talked to Salem this morning. He says he has that gift you were looking for. You know, the one to look for imbalance?"
Tim perks up audibly. "Oh, good. I'll call or text him or...something. If you see him agian before I do, we just wanted him to see how the imbalance out there is. Like, progressing at the same rate, getting faster, slowing down..."
"All right. He said the first time he looked it was unnaturally high in Wyld. Hopefully he'll be able to tell." She pauses, sobers. "And I asked him to join us. He said thanks for the offer, but no thanks."
Tim makes a low sound. "Too bad. Did he ah, give a reason, or just the usual 'I'm not packing right now' thing?" It sounds like he has some experience with that line.
Shelby sighs. "Xander."
Tim is quiet for a minute. "Wait. Did..." More silence. "Did Salem used to be, ah, in Xander's family?" Someone doesn't know much about pure breeding or what it looks like, possibly.
Shelby pauses again. "--Couldn't you tell?" So speaks the other end of the pure breeding spectrum. "I'd love to get them together over coffee or something. I think - I hope - Salem would see Xander's not like other Lords. I hope he's not like other Lords," she adds wryly.
“Do I look like a guy who knows shit about white people?" Tim replies, sounding amused. He clears his throat. "I'll be honest, I was worried about it, but like, he didn't strike me as being like Avery or the others. So, long as he stays not acting like them, I'm okay."
"No, you look like you," she retorts, amused in return. "--And I know what you mean. Considering the guff Kerr gave me when she only thought she was a Shadow Lord, I'm rather astonished to find myself wanting to pack with one. But I get a good feeling off him. Heck, I'd rather pack with Xander than Zosia."
Tim chokes on something, from the sound of it (possibly he made some tea). After clearing his throat, he manages to say, "I won't tell her you said that."
Shelby tries for prim and mostly succeeds. "Thank you," before relaxing. "Though I'm fairly certain she's guessed about me not wanting to pack with her. I mean, there she was, Ritemaster, with the Warder in her Guardian pack. If I was just looking for Renown, I'd have been stupid not to ask."
Tim makes an mmmmm sound. "Well, some folks don't work together. No shame in that, any more than not wanting to date every last person you meet." Some rustling. "I'm gonna get myself awake. Talk to you later?"
Shelby says, "All right. Enjoy your morning."
